Wild Days Out
Beach Activities & Seal WatchingA wildlife themed day of discovery for the young and young at heart. Meeting at Findhorn village on the shores of the beautiful Findhorn Bay, we will then take a short boat trip across to the forest and wide sandy beach at Culbin. Here you will have a chance to visit the seals, learn about their fascinating lives from a marine wildlfie expert and hear the stories and legends that surround these charasmatic animals. After this there will be a beach themed scavenger hunt to discover the hidden secrets of the shoreline. Then some time to get creative and make some beach themed souvenirs to take home, all with natural materials we have collected. This is a fantastic opportunity to spend the day with local experts, learning while having fun. Price: Adults £45, Children (5-14) £25, (under 5s) £12.50 Dates: April - October. Bushcraft RamblesSpend the day with a woodland, wild food and wildlife expert, exploring an ancient forest and/or the dramatic River Findhorn. Learn about and forage for wild foods and medicinal herbs. Try your hand at traditional and wilderness survival skills such as weaving rope from nettles, shelter building, building a fire without matches and campfire cooking. Learn about the local woods and rivers and the wildlife they support. Price: Adults £50, Children (5-14) £35, not suitable for under 5s. Dolphin Discovery DaysA unique opportunity to spend the whole day in the company of a marine biologist and dolphin expert. In our small group we will explore the beautiful Moray Firth in north Scotland, one of the best places in Europe to see wild bottlenose dolphins, seals and seabirds, including delightful puffins and impressive gannets.
